Why am I getting taken to diabetes destroy on this forum?

Morning @Administrator this is still happening - I clicked on the flag for my alerts & safari opened a new tab for diabetes destroyer. I have cleared cookies etc yesterday.

Phew, that's good! There was a vulnerability in one of the open source plugins we used, and that was exploited by the DD spambot. The DD spam is doing the rounds online. The exploit redirected users to the DD website. It's very annoying, sorry for the inconvenience. All data is held on external severs (i.e. not on the same server as the forum) so no data is at risk. It's just really annoying, and really inconvenient. It's been fixed, thanks to @Giverny and Sukh/Kieran yesterday. The most annoying thing is that there's no way to track the identity of the people behind it either. We've reported the matter to the police, tracking is extremely difficult/tricky. Here's hoping.
I'm still getting it, I deleted cookies and hope that works. Maybe put a notice up for members to do this too on the home page. Thanks. :)

Went onto new posts, no prizes for guessing what appeared.

The issue was unfortunately originating from our servers. It shouldn't have installed any malware on your systems, but I'd encourage everyone to keep up their usual virus/malware scans. You can never be too careful!

If anyone else gets redirected to Diabetes Destroyer (which you now shouldn't), please drop me a PM or email [email protected] and we'll investigate. I'll need to know two things from you: the page you were on and what you clicked before DD appeared.

PM sent with details.

This menace is still around, unfortunately, though hopefully not in the forum. Came across it tonight in the low carb course programme - so maybe avoid that programme for the time being.

Leg amputation guy is back. Chrome and IE. Everything cleared out and deleted. Still popping up.

Thanks to a passing child, I now have Adblock Plus (free) installed for each browser and (fingers crossed) the nasty pop up has gone.

Don't count your chickens, I have Adblock Plus installed and still occasionally get redirected, it's very annoying.

Oh no. It is the newbies I feel sorry for. Imagine hearing that :eek:

I hope it get resolved soon.

this is still a problem on this forum... just click on the logon screen and get taken straight to another web page. I have to keep clearing my caches and it still happens. Must be some bug on this forum.

@Giverny

It's still biting.

My phone, on Windows 8,
not logged in, on the home screen, where the 'meet the community' - join free' flash at the bottom of the screen is, leads to diabetes destroyer.
Persistent little thing.

@Salvia
@catherinecherub

Thanks very much @Avocado Sevenfold, and I hope it works for you. I also have AdblockPlus installed in my browser (Firefox) but the bug has still managed to get through. I also have malwarebytes and AVG. I hope you're OK for the future, but perhaps you still need to remain vigilant.

just sayin ........

P.S. Have just seen your other post, sorry, I should have read to the end before posting
