Getting a pump!

So I have been on a waiting list for about half a year and been trying to get on the waiting list for about a year before that and I got a call yesterday. They had someone pullout and I can have a pump very last min. I meet with the consultant next week to get my prescription and the week after get the pump and shown how to for it etc so within two weeks I'll be on the pump. I'm excited! Anyone suddenly been told last min? In all the excitement I didn't ask what pump i would get I think my hospital
Usually give the accu check one though.

It's weird as its been such a long journey to get one it doesn't feel real suddenly being told I though I would getting letter saying yes you will have one in another 6 months or something! It properly is very good timing as I have just got a puppy so I am up a lot during the night anyway so can do testing then haha

Do let us know how you get on! Everyone has been recommending this book to me which I have now started reading called 'Pumping Insulin'. I've found it very informative so far and people on here have told me it a must read, so maybe worth a look for you in preparation! :)

the book is a little expensive :] but i need to get it, other then that good luck on pump journey :D
 
Thanks I was looking as I remember being recommended it. Yes it's like £20 managed to find it on the iBooks store so can read on phone etc and its £12 cheapest I found! Think I'll download it today
