Chat for ASD families

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss @Galja, the important thing is that you got up and sang for this young man. It doesn't matter that you were late and you didn't do the translation, his mother would have been truly grateful you were able to do it at all. It reminds me of my father's funeral when me and my mum were in tears and couldn't even speak but my then 15 year old son got up and did his own reading paying tribute to his wonderful grandad. Everyone was in tears at the end of it!

I couldn't agree more, even though my son is on the higher functioning side of the spectrum he went to a specialist college for disabled students. He made some very good friends with varying degrees of disability and some of them are absolutely amazing!

Hello @autisticwonder1970 this is a thread for chatting on if you are Autistic, have Aspergers Syndrome or are a family member of same. Please feel free to post on here as well as on type 2 life. I like your new username and avatar - cool!

How is everyone today. Does anyone know if @4ratbags has been posting recently? It's been a while since we've heard from her. Hope everything is OK, we're missing you 4ratbags xx

Welcome back! @13lizanne is taking a little break from the forum but she will be back soon. I'm glad to hear you're back on track, how are the little ones?

They are both doing well, how have you been.
Not too bad, apart from a couple of colds. DS is doing well, he wrote a script for his drama group and they performed it a couple of weeks ago. Proud mum moment :)

Hello @4ratbags and @Diamum5972 just popped in for a moment while hubby takes our lad back to his supported accommodation, we had a great day with him today. Giggling and smiling all day, we'll see him again on Monday, his care staff and Autism practitioners are truly wonderful, it's taken 27 yrs but at last he has the services he needs. I'm only on forum to say hi to you two lovely ladies then hubby and I are off out for a walk when he returns. Lots of love to you both and your beautiful families. Anna xx

@Diamum5972 that is awesome, I bet you were glowing with pride.
@13lizanne it sounds like you had a great day, enjoy your walk.
We are currently enjoying two children with croup and one is teething to boot but thats life. M is finally coming out if her shell at preschool which is great but our next hurdle is school and we live out of zone for all the town schools so we are thinking about using M's mums address in town to get her into a good school that I know have good supports in place.

Hi Anna, lovely to hear from you again. Your description made me smile, it's such a relief when our loved ones are really thriving. I've been volunteering at the theatre again tonight, I only got back 20 minutes ago! Love to you and hubby too xx

Aww, sending you hugs. DS used to get chest infections all the time when he was little, it's horrible when they're poorly. It's great that M is coming out of her shell a bit. I would definitely use her mum's address, the right school can make all the difference

The best of luck in looking for your school, I remember the struggles we had I so hope you get her into the one that you want for her. Have a lovely day ladies xx @4ratbags @Diamum5972
