Hi Everyone,

do you think glucose Meter give exact result ? Currently i am using dr morepen glucose monitor to test my blood.
can we trust on this glucoseMeter ? or is it require to go for testing in hospital lab ?

Thanks for reply. Then how can we know that our glucose is on control or not ? is require to go hospital for Monthly checkup ?

I agree with @britishpub .

I've worked out my meter reads about 5% higher than the one they use at the hospital.. OK I hear you think. That's just comparing it to one other meter.
But then I record my results on a "Diaconnect" app which also works out my HbA1c. When I get my "official" results back from the hospital. They romp in 5% lower too!

I just use it as a "guideline", then act accordingly from that..

The blood glucose meter will give you a rough idea of what your blood sugar level is like, at the moment of testing. But they can be up to 5% out.
A laboratory blood test (HbA1c) gives you a reading of bs level over the previous 12 weeks, so it is more accurate.

I spent a month comparing two meters which were differrent but which one was the most accurate? I got some control solution of known strength and found the Abbott meter accurate and the SD reads high. Once you know that you can "aim off" where necessary.

Meters won't be 100% accurate, but they'll generally be consistent. So you can see by testing before and after meals how various foods are affecting you, and if you keep a record of your results, you can look for resulting trends or patterns in you glucose levels. You'll be getting useful insights irrespective of absolute accuracy.
