Reoccuring UTI's

Hi All
About a year before I was diagnosed I was suffering from reoccurring UTI's so was put on antibiotics got a little better but then always came back, was referred to a Urologist who found nothing so was discharged, anyway now I'm thinking maybe it was all along related to my undiagnosed diabetes type 2? Has anyone else suffered with them? I have had two lots of antibiotics again recently and its come back, pain in side and back, could this mean my diabetes is not being controlled, I am testing usually all fine sometimes spikes a little in the morning, had the odd high only twice in the last 2 months? I have a meeting with my Diabetic nurse tonight?

Hi Ceri, I've had very similar issue with a chronic Staph. infection that was found at time diagnosed with T2DM. I was prescribed numerous courses of antibiotics over a few months, but the UTI always returned quickly after each course completed. Since then I have spent 10 months on a low dose antibiotic to keep it controlled. After a few trips to the urologist, they have decided that in my case it is probably caused by an infected 8mm stone in upper pole of right kidney and I am currently awaiting an operation to have it removed. Have they checked for a stone?
