Interesting piece as Dr Chatterjee, introduced the thought that perhaps:

1. The western diet played a significant part...

2. Obesity could be involved...

2. Diabetes could been loved...

I've seen this doctor talk a number of times and he clearly links diet as THE big causal link to many metabolic conditions and the link to psychological disease.

I thought he introduced his inclusion of metabolic and dietary observations, were skilfully and winsomely introduced.

It's been awhile since I read his book but Professor Yudkin was quite clear that sugar alone was the cause of many diseases. He used to tip sugar water down the necks of students and rodents and watch the inflammation first hand.
