Hi
Good news is bg is down to 6.0 from 6.8 in Jan but bad news is ldl is up and Hdl is down. This hasn't happened to me before so need to pick your expert brains as to why and what I can do about it.

So what changes do I need to make to LCHFing to improve my results?

Thank!

Cut out the saturated fats and dairy.
Good non saturated fats should do it.

@SunnyExpat took the words right out of my mouth.
What type of fats are you currently eating? Lots of fatty meats, chicken skins, bacon, dairy, cooking in grease?
I am a broken record with avocado but since eating one a day and NO dairy, limited lean red meats, no chicken skin, limited occasional butter, no bacon etc my lipids are great.
I basically switched from animal fats to plant fats like avocado, mayo, olive oil and a few nuts and pumpkin seeds. Everything turned around. I eat fish everyday, turkey or chicken most days and lamb or 100% grass fed beef once or twice a week. Sometimes none. I trim all visible far off. I also don't ever over eat protein. Lots of veggies and avocado make up the main portions of my meals.

Exercise, intermittent fasting, mild supplementation in combo with LCHF has helped me, all advised and supervised by my doc:)

Thank you. I basically get most fats from animals. I drastically cut down on dairy a few weeks ago but don't think I'm prepared to cut any more. I can add more plant based fat like avocados and have actually eaten a few over the last week since getting them dirt cheap in Sainsburys!!

I'm concerned that I'll up my protein if I cut too much fat out which will increase my bg again.

I could def eat more fish though so will add more salmon.

I'm IFing but not really long enough for it to make a massive impact on hba1c this time. It will be interesting to see what happens in Sept for next results when I'll have been on that for four months....

I'll make some tweaks.

Thank you x
