Hi, partner is type 1, we are trying to buy a house but he needs to get life insurance but everybody is turning him down, does anybody have any advice on what to do

Are you seeing an independent financial Advisor (IFA), or using a bank or the like? An IFA should be able to research the marketplace on your behalf.

If I recall, @noblehead used a brokerage specialising in diabetic patients. I wonder if he could give you a link to there.

No I didn't use an insurance broker, after ringing around different insurance companies I got a policy with a company called Cornhill Insurance which was later took over by Phoenix Life, it was a Decreasing Life Term policy for mortgage purposes but was loaded due to my type 1, the policy did include my wife however.

It pays to shop around IMHO.
