I'm T1 and have been for 30 years BM results of late were on the rise, along with my weight, that is, until I found the Blood Sugar Diet. It's based on reducing carbs and has returned my BM to astonishing levels and my weight is reducing weekly. I haven't followed the book to the letter rather potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, biscuits, cakes and crisp have been replaced with additional good quality meat, fruit, vegetables and nuts. I do deviate when we have guests or are out to eat (even partake in a pudding on occasions) I would recommend anyone, whether Diabetic or overweight to read this book and give it a try.

Dr.Michael Mosley ,the 8 week blood sugar Diet.
I bought my copy on Amazon < £4 There are recipes / menu plans ,still plodding through the theory.

I have been on this diet for almost a month and have already lost a stone. I found it difficult to get around the different foods to start with but am now getting into the swing of it. I have only just been diagnosed with T2 and am hopeful that this diet will help me get back to normal although I believe I still have a way to go. I have mobility problems so I can't undergo the exercise that they recommend but it is good to note that my weight is coming down. I intend to see this through to the end of the 8 weeks and then to assess. I will probably be on this diet for some time but am happy with it.

Good to read others are having a go at trying this diet. I recently heard of it and am reading the book too.
It seems really doable for me and I am realising I may drink too many cups o tea too as he doesn't seem to include that in the daily diet ( meaning there soesnt seem to be a daily amount of milk ) - but I could have missed that. My aim is to lose weight and once I know my diagnosis, I will start....

Hi, glad to hear you find this diet useful, both myself and my husband uses this diet all the time now, it has become our way of life, whilst I am T1, my husband is not diabetic and we do treat ourselves occasionally, I know I should do more exercise but I'm afraid I'm no friend of exercising . For yourself as T2 you could actually find that the meds may no longer be needed the more weight you lose. Apart from successfully losing weight we both feel better. Wishing you well and continued success x
