good afternoon

My daughter was diagnosed in January of this year. I can't get over the fear or maybd the guilt of knowing something was completely wrong.

However at this point my daughtef doesn't sleep much because I'm on high alert and constantly waking her up to check her sugar. Every three hours. How can I help her get a good night sleep? Is there a snack to give her to keep her sugars maintained? Please any advise would help.

Thank you all in advance

Hi @Joy0524 have you tried checking her sugar while she is sleeping? That's what my mam did when I was first diagnosed aged 3 and It didn't often wake me.

Is she in the honeymoon period still? How have her bgs been so far? Does she have supper or anything before bed?

Hi @Joy0524 and welcome to the forum.

How can I help her get a good night sleep?

Maybe have a look at the Freestyle Libre as an option, but if your daughter is having regular night-time hypo's you need to mention this to her diabetes team who will advise on adjusting her insulin doses.

Hi @Joy0524 my faughter is also newly diagnosed in march this year she is nearly, 3 and she is getting quite a few night time hypos, i dnt get any sleep as im so worried i wont wake up to test her and treat the hypo, ive been told about a cgm monitor that alerts you when there low so im looking into this, as im not goin to be any good to her if i cant sleep, ive been testing every 2 hours for 4 weeks and its really taking its toll now, so maybe try looking into the cgm before you turn into a zombie like me !!!
