According to a Dexcom, a box of four sensors aren't made from the same "Batch" to avoid issues like this. I suppose it's possible that an entire months worth of inventory could be bad, but I highly doubt it.
If you've ever looked at a Dexcom sensor, all it is is a wire and metal contact. There's not a lot that could be manufactured incorrectly.
I get the occasional bad sensor myself. I suppose it's possible that it's user error, but I'm very consistent with how and where I install my sensors every time.
Can you explain the batch issue? Who told you they are different? As they all have the same lot number and animas have agreed they seem to be a bad lot and expect to replace all 4.
I've been using the system for nearly 3 years and never had a box this bad, so I don't think it's user error (including rotating sites etc)
Ok thanks, never been able to speak to dexcom (unless animas option 5 go through to them now)I've raised the issue with Dexcom in the past. I'm only sharing the information that was shared with me.
What I was told was that all four of the sensors in a particular box are made at different times to avoid situations like that.
Of course, it's very possible that the rep I spoke to was full of s***, but it seems like basic quality control to implement measures like that to avoid an entire box not working.
I have had a few sensor failures in a row, and it turned out to be a bad transmitter. Animas has told me that if you have 3 sensor failures back-to-back-back all within the sensors 7 day warrantied period they will replace your transmitter (if it is still within the 6 month period)
I had 3 failures out of 1 box, and the said they would send me an entirely new box of 4, but that i should replace my transmitter as well.
Are they all just giving you the 'sensor failure' warning within the 7 day warranty? or is it something else?
