Hi just putting this out there.. does anyone suffer with different forms of hypos? Im type 1 and sweating n craving sweets was always the obv hypo sympton but the last couple years i barely sweat or shake anymore insteas my hypos range from doing something completely different one being, i act stupid? Like i jump up n down and twitch for instance n cant talk properly or make sense once sugar been digested it soon wears of n i stop being silly? Its quite embarrasing :-( ! The other is my vision can blur, or if i am out i could be looking at one thing blink and see something completely different <--- scary ! My body has changed so much n the hypo situation is weird. And there all hypos as i check my sugars and always below 3 at this stage.

hi @miss_lady_pink
i know exactly what you mean about symptoms seeming to change.
for many years my symptoms were the sweating and a ravenous craving for something sweet.

mostly these days i get "the green halo effect" in my eyesight , sometimes a feeling that my hands are shaking but asking people if they are and they say No they're not ( which is really weird )
and sometimes I get really thirsty at around 4.0 as well -- haha , so sometimes i don't test cuz I think I can't be low feeling thirsty
the weirdest though is not feeling hypo at all , but testing and being 2.1

Hi, @miss_lady_pink

How long have you been diabetic??

Yes, certainly the syptoms change.. I'm not a sweaty jibbering fool any more with my eyes rolling back, when hypo on the bovine insulin I had as a kid..

The eye thing is the first give away for me. Followed by the "walk in the room & forgetting why?"
The foolishness can still manifest my mind can pick up on the smallest insignificant detail in my environment at the time & I can stand there working out its place in the universe??

My wife caught me in a shop once staring at toy model Storm troopers.. Grabbing my attention I realised I needed something to eat..

Yesterday at work I took time out to treat a hypo (we'd barely had time to stop.) as I sat in the shade of a customers open garage on a step, munching. The customer fancied a chat..
Although I felt I held my composure well. The customer must have felt he was talking to a weirdo..

I normally keep out the way when treating. Unless I'm doing a gig..
Then I let rip with wherever it takes me! Lol

About 16 years now, +2 kids later. Its weird how our bodys change now wen a hypo occurs, im lazy and dnt always member to eat if i go out or know im doing something active, my husband n son constantly remind me to eat and check my levels before i do anything and during etc. Just wish my hypos werent so strange and make.me do stupid things

To be honest. I've seen some nonDs act & talk a little strange if they haven't eaten in a little while...
Years ago I was working with a driver (a calm upbeat cheery sort.) we were running late on a job & he was getting anxious & un reasonable.. Ranting about ditching the truck & walking the 50 odd miles home..
To be fair it wasn't aimed at me. But I got him to pull over take time out & have a bite to eat. We were back on track after that! ;)

My theory is modern insulins can "mimic" the above side effect in the subtlety. As opposed to the sweaty zombie of the bovine stuff of old...? Depends on ones character too..? The brain (I believe.) is always the last to wave the "white flag" during hypoglycemia...
