I was pre diabetic a few months ago and now am fine, this is what I did. I cut out all sugar in drinks and food drastic I know but I went all out cold turkey, I downloaded the sugar smart app and scanned all food I didn't buy anything that had lots of sugar in. I ate all throughout the day low go breakfast porridge with frozen raspberries wholemeal protein sandwich for lunch and tea noodle and veg and protein again, I snacked on fruit , and toast. Nuts and seeds and drank water, now I am feeling amazing and no longer I'll after 6 or 7 months and I have lost two stone, I now consider it a way of life and will not go back, am a complete health nut and enjoying life, it was just the kick up the bum I needed, you can do it too one day at a time, eat little and often. No feasting and starving,

Well done!

You have absolutely done the best thing possible by nipping it in the bud before it develops further.

:D

Yes I do count myself as lucky that it was spotted early. And I could do something about it. My mum had diabetis and she suffered for years and it developed into type one, if only I could of helped her more we always learn things to late.

You are a winner, no doubt!

Congratulations!

but a lot of the stuff you are eating from porridge to wholemeal bread to fruit snacks to noodles to snacking on fruit would send me sky high to the hospital.
I'm sorry about that, I guess everyone is different, I eat little portions I don't feast and starve. And I have levelled out my blood sugar, I have heard that wholemeal bread is not good for some, spiking sugar levels. I only eat two slices a day, and I never was a big carb eater I don't eat pasta as that bloats me, or potatoes only sweet potatoes. I used to be an aratic eater now I eat all through the day hardest lesson for me.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. It is separate from type 2 and not the progression of type 2 diabetes. If someone with type 2 is taking insulin, they are a type 2 on insulin. Changing how the diabetes is treated doesn't change what type of diabetes it is.

Well done on making changes and improving your health - great success!
