No, not some oversized bloke baring his bum :)

Apparently the moon is closer to the Earth tonight than it will be for twenty years or so and consequently it will appear very large. I shall be going out to have a look later on, in the hope that there's some clear skies that allow me to see it - supposedly we're due some cloud, interspersed with clear intervals, in the Balmy South.

Interesting stuff.

It was sunny blue skies here today, so hoping to see it if I can. Thanks for the heads up :)

Thanks for mentioning it, just been outside and its very, very bright and full,,,,the vampire rabbits that live here will be out in force tonight

Just walked out on my deck no need to turn outside light on so bright, there are street lights anywhere near me the moon is brighter than the sun we have had a couple of days earlier this week. My noisy neighbours are enjoying it, they are moonbathing

Its the Super Moon tomorrow night.
Opinions seem to be varied. In the US, the moon will be at its closest at 8.52 am Eastern Standard Time, this morning - about lunchtime today in the UK. The tenor of most of the articles I have seen has been that, by tonight, the moon will be drawing away again, hence last night was the best time to see it. I am not a physicist, or any other kind of -ist, so I could be wrong. Presumably it will still be relatively close tonight, in any event......

Not as big as I thought it would be, but still worth a look!

We had one a few months ago and I have a photo of it on my iPhone. However it wasn't that spectacular then either! lol However I do love clear shies and moons!
