I have been trying to follow this for a few weeks but have lost diddly squat. I got upset last night , I have to go on a days attachment with work , to wear smart clothes ( I usually wear uniform ) so as I didn't have any I ordered some , the 14's I ordered didn't fit and all I could see was my bloated stomach. ( Off to Primark this morning to get something cheap ) any way I suppose that has really focused me . I have to do this.
Ok , I have questions ...
- I've looked at what you can eat does this include Brie ?
- Can I eat porridge oats with water ?
- could I have some breakfast ideas for work please.

I do want to do this but it's just not happening

Thanks

Hi Nadine, I know what it feels like to have to buy something each time you have an Occassion because nothing in your wardrobe fits and you hate yourself a little more each time

I have just started low carb, this is week 2. Once I actually committed to starting by enrolling in this site, I spent a weekend cooking and baking from the recipes here. I make bacon and egg pies in muffin tin's for breakfast. So easy just slices of bacon lining the muffin tin and a cracked egg in the middle. I then add different things to each to keep them interesting, some I add chopped mushrooms, or capsicum or even a little piece of sausage and top it off with some cheese. Bake in the oven for 20 mins and that's my breakfasts for the week. Good luck with your journey.

I'm going to pinch your meal suggestion. What a brilliant idea. :)

Hi @nadine68 It can take a few weeks before a LCHF approach to eating kicks in and you start losing weight. I started losing weight at about 1-1.5lbs a week after a month, but we are all different.
In answer to your questions, any cheese including Brie is good if you're doing LCHF.
Porridge spikes some people but not others, I'm ok with it, but the only way to find out if it affects you is to test before eating, then testing 2 hours after your first mouthful. I make it with full fat milk, or hazelnut milk, and add double cream.
If you are asking about breakfast ideas for eating in your workplace canteen/restaurant or in the hotel if you are on a course, I would go for eggs, bacon, tomatoes, and mushrooms.

@nadine68 - Hi :). I eat Porridge occasionally and it does not spike me.
I use boiling water from the kettle, give it a good stir through. And when cooled I stir in several spoonfuls of Greek Yoghurt.

I eat Brie
Don't eat porridge
Normally have full fat Greek yoghurt with a few berries for breakfast. Quick, tasty and much lower carb than my old weetabix with milk.
Good luck

As far as losing weight is concerned - it has just not owrked for me!
I inderstand that when you reduce the carbs you reduce a source of energy so that is why you need to upp the fats, and as I also understand the Brie is fine but the oats are a no-no (but I'm no expert).
Are you able to keep your blood count under control - this is the most important consideration, the weight is not going to fix itself overnight so well done for accepting your weight problem and get a new outfit.
I printed out a list from www.thedietdoctor.com which I stuck to a cupboard door so now I need to learn how to count those carbs and then hopefully I may start to grow a little thinner????
Good luck.
