So when I was first diagnosed 4 weeks ago I was given a little freestyle meter to use and on set insulin units but as I'd been doing so well with my own carbohydrate counting when I went to visit my nurse 3 weeks ago he decided at my next appointment I should get a new one so when I saw him 2 weeks ago he gave me the Accu-Chek Aviva Expert and I feel this has really helped me and I love it. :)

Hi,

I use an Accu-chek Mobile. Which works for me!

From memory? I think @mahola 's daughter uses the Expert..

I have a self funded Accu-Chek Performa, this is my second one as I got a free upgrade from my old one.

I've been using contour next usb, today I received the contour next one, so will be using that from now

Optium Xceed. I think it makes me a bit " old school " if that's the right terminology. But hey I love it.:):):):)

Funny enough. If have one of these too! It is a good little meter. However I had to make a choice meter wise on one type of strip?
Though with my choice being the aforementioned. It's more like a very small tape cartridge with 50 tests in..?

One Touch Verio IQ until recently, then after a Dafne type course I switched, as advised to a Accu Chek Aviva Expert. My latest toy is the Freestyle Libre.

I have an accu check Aviva which I bought myself, although I'm currently getting the test strips on prescription.

Pre-pump I was using the Expert meter, couldn't fault it tbh.

I sat down with my GP and told him my preferred options on strips and lancets, once we had gone through different costings etc he agreed to give me my choice

Sorry, yes the Mobile was my choice over the Contour.. But it was a tough decision..

Well I am using the Codefree at the moment but I also have a contour next USB which I like, an Accu check Mobile and a My Life Pura X. oh and not to forget the Nexus GlucoRx.

I alternate between a Codefree (best value for money and nice and compact) and a GlucoRX Nexus (chunkier, dearer strips but easier to read in low light). I originally bought the GlucoRX as a number of people said the Codefree tends to read a little on the high side, so I was being nerdy.

My discovery was that there is little difference between the two in readings. I enjoy using both. I may keep the GlucoRX at home and keep the Codefree in my bag (I'd be doing most of my readings while at work) because it is so compact.
