The low carb message is getting heard.

Excellent news!

Last time I went to a Wetherspoons (and first time since diagnosis) they were happy to give me extra veg with my steak instead of the chips.

I've normally swapped my chips or roasts out for salad or veg.
I've just told them I want a low calorie option, most places will do it for you.

Same deal, different name, good marketing to attract more punters.

It can help if you tell the restaurant what to do! I suppose it saves them time. Christmassy dinner on the 27th, I asked for some walnuts to go with mushroom soup starter, instead of bread. I was given extra sprouts and some chestnuts with the roast chicken to replace roast potatoes. Stilton dessert, I deselected oat crackers and asked for celery sticks. They - the hotel staff and the celery sticks - were brilliant.

Excellent news.

I too have found pubs and restaurants keen to help where they can, and will amend the meal to suit without extra cost.

Yes, after all, a good chef has to be flexible.
