Can anyone please tell me the difference between the symptoms of low sugar and hot flush. I cannot sleep at night, I feel very hot and I sweat a lot and I really don't know whether it is because of low sugar or hot flush. Thanks

The symptoms of both problems present in a similar fashion. Both hypoglycemia and flushes tend to bring on sweats, which is one of the biggest symptoms.

The only way to be sure of whether you're having a hypo or a hot flush is to rule out the hypo by testing your blood glucose.

Do you own or have access to a BG meter?

I see from your profile you are diet only, so find it very unlikely it will be low blood sugars. If it isn't hormone related (menopause issues) I suggest it is high blood sugars.

Have you got a blood glucose meter? The only way to find out is to test yourself when this happens.

Ignore your doctor. Type 2s are told that. If doctors told us to test they would have to prescribe the meters and strips, which they can't do due to cost. Test, test, test.
