Today I had an appointment with a Diabetes Nurse, only 4 years of trying to be seen.
I'm now down for an education course, been referred to a consultant and getting my feet checked.
Wonders will never cease
 
Pleased to hear some help at last. I just don't understand how most of us have seen nurses etc and you with real problems have been overlooked. Just hope things improve for you soon.
 
I had a hospital appointment for my other problems and another lady's file was mixed up in mine, so it may have been, she was getting my test results etc just hope they haven't been trying to tell her she was diabetic. It was bad enough being told some of my results were fine when I knew that during some tests there had been issues. The lady may have been through some pretty invasive tests for no reason as they were meant for me

Glad you've got that far at last. What have been some of the excuses over those four years? It really does seem to be a lottery when it comes to any type of care. On the one hand I've just been contacted by my surgery so that the DN can phone me on February 1st to complete part 3 of her three part diabetic review. Yet a friend aged 70 going to a surgery very close to mine urgently needs a hernia operated on and a knee replacement. Seems the GP has to apply for emergency funding and if it become a real emergency just go to A&E. Weird old world.
 
Well 1st I should have had a consulant review diabetes disgnosis as I was under the care of a consultant the mistake was that consultant would cross refer instead I was sent to diabetes care team but they could only act on referral from endo consultant. Then hospital was put in special measures and diabetes care was transfered to another hospital my GP referred me to them but they said they could only act from endo at original hospital. Then original hospital was teamed with Kings London so they brought diabetes care back, new care team needed referral from 2nd hospital as it had been in charge of transfers.
My GI consultant did another cross referral which was send to GP to refer to endo consultant, then GI consultant left trust. Then behold BG went crazy due to lack of vits and mins, becoming anaemic and liver joining in the fun GP nurse contacted diabetes team via phone rather than electronic referral.
