Type 1: How many test strips do you use up a month ?

I use 200 strips a month.

I can get 200 subsidised strips at any one time as a member of NDSS

@noblehead do u get 300 each month ?

@Tipetoo what is NDSS ?

I get 150 a month but i always need to buy 1-2 boxes of extra strips. Is there a way to get more, the amount i would actually need ?

My doctor refused me to give more then 3 boxes a month, but that doesnt seem to be enough. She keeps saying its a strict system, if i need more manage to get more myself...

150 per month.. 5 a day. my G.P prescribes a pot of 50 each time.

Sadly I've had a few questions asked @Jaylee :banghead:
No one in years has said a "Dicky" to me.... For as long as I remember.) I got 200 on repeat & two weeks later? I put in for the "make up". (Just for the ACM cassettes.) then the following month everything else plus the tests...
The usage is documented on my app records.. We need to test. It's that simple.

The NDSS stands for National Diabetes Service Scheme run by Diabetes Australia.

It subsidises the price of strips, and pump parts etc.

The link is in my sig below if you are a Australian and wish to join.

I live in Hungary, here law says i cant get more than 3 boxes a month even if i was dying. lol I feel like its a bit unfair. I skip 1-2 tests each day to save some strips for the last days of month, but i always end up buying more coz i cant not check my BG for days.. ? Im shocked when i get told by doctors to manage it myself.

7 a day, so ... a lot. I sometimes skip the post-lunch and just wait until pre-dinner because these things aren't cheap.

I get 300 every 28 days on repeat
I did have to have a few words with my GP but we have come to an agreement after I have bombarded him with daily BG logs sheets and my meter showing usage and my very in control HbA1c.

oh -- and saying the following throwaway line -- " would you drive your car without a speedometer" ???? :D

My strips are not on a prescription, I go into my pharmacy that has NDSS affiliation then show my membership card and ask for 200 Performa strips.

They then check the card on the computer, then give me the strips at the subsidised price of $2.60 for 200. I then have to sign the NDSS form showing that I have received them.

That's it.
