I am a Type 2 man for the past 10 years and is taking 2 mg of slow release Metformin daily. Normally my early morning blood sugar reading is above 7.

I have asked by my close friend to drink Green Gava Leaf tea to reduce my sugar levels. (Take 3 green leaves, add hotwater in a cup, allow it to brew for 5 minutes)

For the past 3 days, I have observed that my sugar has dropped below 6. Yesterday, I dropped my Metformin to 1.5 mg, still my sugar reading is 6 this morning.

Is this a blip or real? Any experience from team members? Kindly advise.

Regards, RLN Australia.

Here's a link you can have a look at Guava Leaf Tea.

According to this article, it affects BG by blocking the absorption of sucrose and maltose. So if you're eating a very low carb diet, it wouldn't make much difference. You'd think.

I only drink black coffee with out any sugar, so it is of no useful benefit for me to drink green leafy material "tea". :D
