People With Diabetes Conference

The GBdoc are putting on an event in August this year. It is the only conference which is arranged and run by people with diabetes for people with diabetes.
For this event to be free for all to attend we need to help raise the running costs. Last year it was in excess of £18k. It really is a great event and any donations would be very much appreciated

''For the third year the #gbdoc community plan to have the "Great Tweet Meet" - our annual People With Diabetes Conference. Hiring a venue for two days for 200 people costs a lot.

This unique event run by, for and with people with diabetes is the only conference in the UK for the people who live with diabetes.

To make the event free for all we need to raise funds to cover the costs, venue hire, refreshments etc.''
The Gbdoc is the Great British Diabetic Online Community, im sure there are many people on this forum who will have heard of them.
PWD simply stands for ''People With Diabetes'' it isn't a charity or anything.
In essence it is just a huge group of diabetics trying to pool resources and arrange a giant meet up

The events is on
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August
Jury's Inn Hinkley Island

Booking is not open yet, until the funding is all sorted. Once in place free tickets can be issued. If not enough is raised then the tickets will have a cost to fund the event
