Hi, I had a blood test that showed my mmol at 7.3. This was a morning test and I'd only had a small glug of coke before it so they wanted to test again with a complete fast. The fast test came out at 6.8. I was booked for the oral glucose test but as it was two weeks away I decided to get a monitor and try to understand which foods were increasing the mmol. Over the two weeks I was non the wiser re food but every morning my first fast result was between 6.2 and 7.7. I would also test 2 hours after lunch and this was anywhere between 7.7 and 9.8. So yesterday I went for the oral test. I tested using my monitor right before the first and second blood test as I wanted to see how accurate my monitor was. My monitor measured 6.8 then 9.2 however the nurse called me this morning to say my results came back (unusually very quickly for my surgery) at 5.9 and then 6.0 for the second test. I realise that my own monitor wouldn't be completely accurate but this is a huge difference particularly the second test. Are these differences plausible and would you expect my second test to only have risen by 1mmol after 75g of glucose? I'm still waiting for the Hba1c result. My monitor is a SD Codefree. Thanks for listening (reading), any advice would be helpful as I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not.
