Hi had pain under my toes on and off for about 3 weeks now, been doctor today and he says my feet are in good condition and he tested sensation in end of my toes all good, but when I am sat it is annoying me ( when walking it's fine ) any ideas

Did your Dr not say what could be causing the discomfort?

It's just on one foot and it's like a cramp pain under foot and a stabbing pain in last 2 toes but he couldn't figure out what's wrong

This could be a result of taking statins.

Or not. (Missed the bit where the op said they took statins)

Have you done anything differently recently?
I had a pain in my toes, I realised it was because I was driving more, and was using the clutch with my big toe only.
Many things can cause pain, new shoes, walking, any change to routine.
(Mine even start to feel weird if I don't cut my toe nails regularly)

Sciatica caused great pain & pins & needles in my big toe and a sensation of sunburn on the top of my foot. I had it for most of a year and it seems to have resulted in nerve damage. I wondered if it was lined to diabetes, by the dr said it was the sciatica and that my feet were fine diabetes-wise.

Yes I do take 20mg of statin daily, it doesn't hurt when I am up and walking about just when sat or laid down it's not a pain bad enough to need pain killers just really odd and niggling

You can self-refer to see a Podiatrist who may be more helpful, if you ring your gp surgery they will explain how you can do this.

Before I took my condition into control, I had very high blood sugars, and high BP and high Cholesterol. Not sure which one it was, but I started to get toe cramps and sticky out toes that were unusual. Not the normal leg cramps. just the toes. My T1D buddy gets toe cramps when his bgl is high too.

I have not had a single cramp (touch wood) since I started my LC diet and bought my bgl into control. That was 2 years ago, so significant period to be free. These toe cramps are a recognised symptom associated with diabetes, but Google searches get swamped with general leg cramp discussions now, so not so easy to find the specific toe info I remember reading a few years ago.

Electrolyte imbalance may be root cause of the problem, and when I started my LCHF diet, I increased my salt and water intake as advised in that diet and this may be what changed for me.
