They are a helpful and friendly bunch on here.. no need to be shy. Ask any questions you like, someone will always be along with advice. I've learned far more on here that I ever did from the NHS :)

Thanks, daisy duck. My nurse is great, the doctor is just there to hand out medication (I think) - already learnt about low carb diet, will give that a go (although carbs are my FAVOURITE thing!)

Just posted today for the first time too!Im a 78 year old granny, diagnosed in 2001, after a very stressful year.Foolishly, just accepted the medication prescribed as the doctor was adamant diet alone would not work for me.Sadly, at that time the info available was very limited.Luckily last year a friend the same age and on the same medication,Metformin and Gliclazide sent a text to say he was in remission after doing the Newcastle diet.I then found this forum and began the LCHF diet(December). My DN gave me a meter and strips when she saw my HcAb down from 48 to43 and took me off Glicazide.......Metformin to go next This forum is so helpful,Thankyou to everyone!I could not do the Newcastle diet my exercise is housework, but this works for me!!
