I went to an information seminar today, and it was so enlightening! I met one on one with educators, dietitcians, and exercise consultants, who went through everything with me. So much information to be had. Where were these people when I was first diagnosed? How did I 'fall through the cracks' as some fool told me?

Did it take a heart attack and three hospital stays to get someone's attention?

Hi, sometimes doctors don't know everything, I've been in hospital twice for low blood sugars but still have not had relevant tests done so until I do I just keep trying to treat myself for the condition known as hypoglycaemia. When my husband was first diagnosed with diabetes it took years before they managed to find the right treatment to suit him now he's on insulin and tablets so I advise you to keep bugging your gp as it can potentially be dangerous especially if you are not receiving the right medication sometimes your doctor doesn't always know what's best so keep calling them until they listen to you.

Never let people make you take 'first hand' knowledge. Be ready to question what you are told. If you are not convinced...research!!
