I'm also 26 and I'm fairly new to the whole T1D thing, just over three years in.

I'm fairly active on the forum and happy to talk anything diabetes related and anything not. Just give me a shout openly or privately if you prefer.

I was diagnosed just before my 26th birthday. I'm just over 6 years in now, so a little older than you I'm afraid @Kevvb1 .

I would recommend

• getting hold of a copy the book "think like a pancreas" - it's a good guide on what you need to know to manage type 1.

• Getting in touch with JDRF for their newly diagnosed pack and to see if they are running any days near you you could attend - https://jdrf.org.uk/ive-just-been-diagnosed/

I was diagnosed at 27, but that was a long time ago! I'm sure there are quite a few who are around your age who are fairly newly diagnosed,

Someone came up with a theory that mid-to late 20's seem prone to T1D something to do with it being a stressful time of life and wearing yourself out more than most - you're leaving the fun care-free party life style of late teens/early 20's for serious relationships, leaving the nest, house buying, starting family, working all hours, partying all the rest!
