Just wanted to say that after seeing a lot of people on here talking about 'The Obesity Code' by Dr Jason Fung I went and bought a copy of the book.

What an interesting read it is proving to be !! The link between cortisol and elevated blood sugars, disrupted sleep patterns and cortisol and stress in general has been a revelation. Hubby is (by his own admission) a bit of a control freak and can be OCD about his job. Finds it very hard to unwind and we suspect that his cortisol has been running high for some years. He hasn't slept properly in years-awful insomnia and it is joining up the dots of how he probably came to be diabetic.

Thank you to all who recommended the book. Trying to tackle the sleeping issues first then having a holiday. If that doesn't work I'll be dragging him off to yoga classes.... :D

His work and this forum changed my life and more importantly health. I can't thank him and you all enough.

Does he give any suggestions on macronutrients?
I was reading a review that he says grains and legumes are allowed?
I was thinking of getting the book for something to read. My sugars and weight as well as meal plans are all in check. Maybe I should t get it or I'll get ideas lol. Don't fix it if it's not broken as the saying goes.

One of my favorites is the Rosedale diet and primal body primal mind. They're my bibles although I do follow Bernstein principles as well.

I can't fast. It was obvious yesterday when I fasted and went for blood work. I like food too much anyway

Where was the review? and which book ? I have read both but ages ago.. most of my stuff from hi I got through his video presentations which are great. Don't recall him mentioning grains and legumes..
I'll put a link in here

but there are many others out there.

His website. Some guy reviewed it and gave it high scores but questioned grains legumes and dairy in his sample meals. I'm not touching grains or legumes but cheese please?

I decided against it. When I'm near a good bookstore I'll scope it out. I, on a good track and too easy to get off. Too much knowledge doesn't always equal good. As I said, don't fix it if it's not broken. This site is better than any book.

You're not wrong there, some of the lighter stuff is excellent.
