@db89 , my old village fields are estates now.! (Recently, they built more houses on the expansive greens in the "new" estates back in the day.?)

I remember the days when the local copper would stop you in the twighlight & ask to see your lights...

Wow! I got memories of these pins.. I'm little younger than you @Cumberland . Though I always thought you were younger than me?
Speaking of a full day's graft. I find the "banter" from some of the "yoof" at my place of work fascinating.
These "young 'uns" don't realise the actual mileage we've done. In some ways, I find it quite flattering... ;)

I'm 54 @Jaylee and I don't know if you are male or female or your age

Did you do your cycling proficiency?

Lol, I thought I was too old to be mistaken for a girl.. CP? Yep. Also a horse rider proficiency too.. But that was many years back, with a riding school certificate.

Since I'm not femail. I can tell you I'm 49. ;)
Funny story from back in the 80s I was out on horse back with a female friend. This van with a crew of builders came up from behind & started "cat calling" us..
I glanced round & with the blokeyest voice I could muster called to the other rider, "I don't fancy your's much."
Needless to say the occupants of the van shut up & sped off up the road... Lol :p

Only been horse riding once oh and a donkey at Blackpool lol

Question boys......do either of you know if you can be drunk in charge of a bicycle? I'm sure Lulu would be interested to know

It is indeed an offence under Section 30 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 however test equipment used for motorists can't be used on drunk cyclists, it up to an officer to use their judgement & either issue words of advice or prosecute. In Poland they are a lot stricter & you can be jailed for riding under the influence

We should be stricter on everything in this country

Sentences are a joke

Pretty much a standard "face:bovvered" reply.
What does that mean?

and regards to drunk driving. @Sable_Jan It states in:
"Section 30 Road Traffic Act 1988 says: “It is an offence for a person to ride a cycleon a road or other public place when unfit to ride through drink or drugs – that is to say – is under the influence of a drink or a drug to such an extent as to be incapable of having proper control of the cycle."
and anyway I don't drink achohol

It means they've seen your complaint & sent a standard reply "very sorry blah blah" & that's it. It would be too much work/time to get any bus cam recordings, assuming there is one to investigate a trivial complaint about a driver giving them a toot or two on the horn .

And you don't apologise either

A little treat now and then

My tipple is a pint of John Smiths or a glass of Port

Wouldn't say no to a cider either

Now funny enough, I just come back from a gig just outside Cheddar.. There was a Cider shack next door to the venue?
My wife came back with a flagon of "Farm yard" while I was setting up. I'm home now & on it! Proper dry scrump... Gert lush...! :D
