What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all . Happy to report my BG at 5.5 today. Over the last year since dx I've been testing up to 10 times per day to see what works for me. Now knowing what I do and acting accordingly, I've decided to try to cut back on the testing unless I have a high morning reading or I'm feeling odd. Lets see what happens.....
good for you ;)

Good morning everyone
BG today 6.1 doing ok.
But it's my birthday tomorrow and me and hubby are off to the Haworth Art gallery to see the collection of Tiffany Glass,I have always had a fascination with every type of glass since I was a child so I will love it. Then into the cafe for a treat we are having an afternoon cream tea! Well it is for my birthday treat. Have a lovey weekend everyone. K
Sounds like a lovely day! Enjoy yourself Kathleen. :)

Interesting @debrasue I had flu and pneumonia jab (bad reaction to pneumonia) and up at 7.0 :arghh:
Hi, @PenfoldAPD !
This seems to be happening to quite a few of us this year - perhaps it's something to do with this year's vaccine. I'm usually in the low to mid-5s, but my FBS has increased to 6.1 today after my flu jab yesterday.
I asked about the pneumonia vaccine, having had pneumonia last year and being in no rush to repeat the experience, but my GP told me I had to wait until I was 65 before I qualified... :grumpy:

Missed the lovely photo today! :joyful: Hope you're ok :nurse::)

Better late than never!

5.1 followed by a stunning 11.1 dawn effect. Big fan of these hahaha.
Don't want to tempt faith but I have never suffered from such a marked dawn effect. I suspect that may be because I have been on metformin immediately from diagnosis.

I sincerely hope that it never knocks on your door. It is the one aspect of my own condition that took most effort to get a handle of and get under tightest control. When I competed at martial arts I went through an extended period of permanently low blood sugar and that was really when dawn effect first manifested itself for me. For some years after I tried lots of different ways to try to get ahead of it. Most of them failed and failed quite dramatically. I can now pretty much keep it boxed in but on the odd occasion it still jumps out and bites me squarely on the **** and it can take me until lunchtime trying to get ahead if it. I hate playing catch up with it I really do.

6.6 today 30 September 2016 I was diagnosed type. Hb1Ac of 52, weight 102 kg. A year on. last Hb1Ac 38, weight 73kg. Thanks to help from all my friends at DCUK and Low Carb Higher Fat. :joyful:xx

Pretty damned impressive young lady. A fine result that I know you would never have got to without a tonne of personal effort and grit :)
