Firstly can we have a link to the video.

I expect it will be more related to high insulin levels than high BG levels, hence consider anything that reduces insulin resistance.

It was an informal interview, no techy bits in it but I will try to find it again.

Well, well, well. This year I started having tinnitus in my right ear, I now have some hearing loss in it AND if I move my head quickly I lose balance though I don't fall. I know that I Didn't have Type 2 2 years ago.
Even mild hearing loss can trigger tinitus. It is the brain's way of (over) compensating. By that I mean that the brain expects to have input from the ears and if sound is absent or even dulled the brain goes 'Hello! There is no sound, this is not normal, I know! I will create my own sound then I will have input'. Hence, tinitus.

The problem only affects my right ear. As far as I can tell the Tinitus came first, after a few months it became obvious that I couldn't hear high sounds, recently I have started to lose balance.

My GP has referred me to a ENT dept as he is concerned that it might be caused by a non-cancerous tumour in my brain.

Yes, the first thing to rule out is a thing called Acoustic Neuroma, I had an MRI to check for that which greatly reduced my anxiety when it came out clear. Good luck on that.

I know I shouldn't joke about it but when I was waiting for the scan I thought Acoustic Neuroma was a smashing name for a rock band.

I've been waiting 3-4 months for an appointment so far and I very much doubt I'll get my initial appointment this year or even early next. Where I live they haven't met their targets for A & E, Cancer Care or Op's for over 5 years and the target time is longer in Wales than it is in England or Scotland.

My partner had an eye test with an optician and was referred to an eye specialist that was 5 months ago he's on the list to be seen.

Where I live is lovely but I should have taken out private healthcare.

I have heard on the news that some people have moved from Wales into England for exactly the reasons you speak of. That is absolutely obscene. No one should wait months to have diagnostic tests, it causes so much stress.
Last scan on my back I was talking to a woman who was paying privately, it cost her £250 but I do not know which part of her body was being looked at. I had only waited a few weeks but I run the risk of cordal equinas(sp) so any new symptom seems to have the effect of quick action.
I do hope your appointment comes very soon. Hugs.

I've got friends in England who've had an endoscopy and also a knee op referred by their gp's and treatment completed/op date set since I've had my referral. We can't get to stage one. I figure that my friend who is having the knee op will have completed her physio before I get through the door of the hospital for my first appointment.

Some procedures are referred to as 'bread and butter' for hospitals. Targets are set by the government and some procedures are given preferrence to earn funds. It is wrong but...
