Hi all,

For the last few weeks I am having trouble sleeping but when I go to bed my sugar levels are under control, which is below 7.0mmol. But I keep waking up during the night to use the bathroom and cannot go back to sleep... think it might be the stress to force myself to sleep... any suggestions of how I could get a better night sleep without waking up all the time?

So do you test when you wake in the night? Needing the loo suggests hyper, but an inability to get back to sleep suggests hypo. It is probably worth testing to check that it's not blood sugar excursions causing sleepless nights.

Assuming it’s not BG related - I have a lavender pillow spray which I like. I find stress impacts my sleep loads and am still working out how to manage it. Fail miserably at the no screens in the bedroom rule ;)

As a shift worker working days and nights I suffered with the same issue , however I discovered that reading a book after I woke up for whatever reason was the best way to focus the mind and it will eliminate that stress feeling of forcing yourself to sleep and you will soon find yourself dropping off again . No electrical items as these pull you into all sorts of avenues which will excite the mind and keep you awake until 5minutes before your alarm .
