Who’s done it and what s happened/ resulted ?

Sounds like 6 eggs a day, anyway you like them but with 1 tablespoon butter/ ghee/ oli/ mayo per egg and 1 oz cheese per egg if desired

No greens , veggies, carbs of any source

I’m thinking butter and scrambles, butter and soft boiled, ghee with any, hard boiled and mayo, baked and reheated with butter. The only way it could get better is the addition of bacon or avo.

Why egg and butter? Why not chicken and butter?

I think I can do this if I only add cheese to one meal.

Recently finding even celery or a few veggies cause cravings.. broth with ghee in the morning instead of coffee and I just never get hungry. With my new ever so tasty ghee I. Oilcloth forget to eat. So I’m htinkkng I could like this. But why only egg? Not that I’m complaining, just curious

What were your results ?

Um, eggs do have carbs. I've got no idea how they get in there, but 1 egg has about 1.1g of carbs (0.7g in egg white + 0.4g in the yolk. So there will be carbs of some source on an egg fast, the source will be the eggs.

True that. But no fiber and mostly fat once you add butter/ghee ornother fats

Just wondering why egg rather than chicken etc.

I know eggs have carbs. And I know veggies make my tummy gurgle so this theory interests me.

Maybe something to do with the protein? esp for you and your GNG possibly.
Also I guess with eggs 6 are easy to count - with chicken who knows how much people are going to eat.
I used it for some of my LCHF 800 calories a day trial a few months ago..then added bacon. Found it quite easy but I also had my coffee and cream at the same time and only did it for a week.. Maybe try again in the New Year.

Can't call it a fast but grandson doing sort of minimal carbs at the moment.

One thing he does is 6 eggs whisked in a loaf tin adds in some fetta and herbs or spices and bakes in the oven does that about twice a day.

He also has a chump chop joint of lamb or some beef steak or chicken cooked on its own no potato, rice or pasta no bread in fact no carbs whats so ever over the last month of that diet he has lost over a stone of mainly fat.
My LCHF diet is far to carby for him.
Oh and he spends hours in the gym every day weight training.

i really dont like that idea.we should be eating a balanced healthy diet. depending on one type of food is going to cause problems if its maintained, saying that hard boiled eggs chopped up with dabs of butter, very very yummy. but as a full diet nope.

Also forgot to say as for results...
Bloods in the 4's and high 3's (usually in the 5''s)
Lost about 6 pounds in weight (unfortunately all since regained) in 7 days.

You aren't supposed to do it forever.. it can help with breaking though a weight loss stall or bring blood sugars down quite fast if required.

Edited to add.. I'm afraid that a "healthy balanced diet" means many things to as many people and is not a phrase that should be used

At medical school we were told of an instance of modern day scurvy - an unsettled person who had been living on Guiness and raw eggs.
So it was an 'almost balanced diet'

Maybe if he/she had boiled or poached the eggs in guiness they would have had a better meal.

If you are having an issue with plants, just cut out the plants from your diet rather than cutting everything out except eggs.

@Kristin251 I think you started a thread about being constipated after eating one egg so maybe an egg diet is not for you?

@Kristin251 May I ask why you are considering this? What might you gain from it? You have wonderfully low levels and don't need to lose weight.

Wasn’t the eggs...mystery still unsolved. Things are a bit better but still need improvement.

I was reading about it on a keto forum and it had lovely pics of eggs all different ways. Made me drool.
I was only going to try it for 2 or 3 days kind of as a wash out. My tummy has not been happy lately so it would give me a reason not to be tempted by carbs. We leave for vacation today so I’ll give it a think this week.
Eggs are ALWAYS good for my bs

I hoped you saw this as I thought I recalled you doing it.
So for a week you just had eggs, butter, bacon, cream? Sounds similar as you’re allowed one oz cheese for each egg, so that would be your bacon, then the creamer could count as cheese or some of the butter.
What was the major thing that was different from your standard diet? Just lower cal? No carbs at all, other than the egg and cream?

I wonder if having a meal say of one ounce chicken thighs with mayo or butter would work? One ounce would be 6 proteins and thighs have fat. Then slather with a tablespoon of fat.

I think I would find it easy as well. Never met an egg I didn’t like.

Personal question....any bathroom issues ?

It’s only a few days and eggs are very nutritious. Lots of people fast all day or longer and only have OMAD Sometimes the body likes a sharp curve.

I was doing something a bit different.. a one meal a day 800 cal regime so I just had one meal of 3 eggs with cheese or bacon and a bit of butter. Alongside that I would have my usual coffee with cream or tea with reduced lactose milk and maybe a few nuts to make up the remaining calories.
I can't recall any specific bathroom issues.
So it was way lower calorie than my usual days 25-35% of my usual intake
The only carbs were from the cream milk and nuts and on the last day I managed to fit in some fish as well all within the calorie limit.

it is such a shame that eggs taste of eggs or I might join you. Now the ribeye diet is one I can get behind of and down right on top of.
