both my feet have been itching like crazy and hurting to walk for a few days, hands too
couldnt see dr yesterday so called today and got booked in with a locum nurse
as it happens she is a diabetic nurse so gave my feet the check over, feeling and pulses good, feet in good condition
she couldnt see any reason at all for the redness and itchiness and said theres a good chance its diabetes related
i have to moisturize my hands several times a day and my feet at least twice a day

Did she take any blood? I’d be insisting on LFT and U+E at the least. Did she recommend not to moisturise between your toes?

Book yourself a GP appointment.

Most DNs and GPs use your last hba1c when making a clinical assessment but if your bgs on meter are showing improvement, continue doing what your doing and those itchiness should improve as your BG control improves.
If your stuck with it long term try the r-ala supplement to get rid of lasting high BG effects. Only worth spending your money if your keeping your bgs under control.

Maybe just from bad control over Xmas?
Keep testing regularly so you can take action.

Nurse may think circulation being effected by poor control but pulses being good means good blood flow but if carry sugar more damaging. Cut those carbs hun and it will stop getting worse.

What are your blood sugar levels like?
last bloods (17/11/17) my HbA1c was 39mnol (26-41)
i dont really chech at home unless i feel off as only get 50 strips per month and i cant afford to buy my own at moment

no bloods as this was an urgent on the day appointment but i am due blood for thyroid so will ask for those to be added
yes she did say not to do inbetween toes

@licklemoose - Did the nurse do a urine dip test? When your bloods were done in November, were your Liver Function and Urea and Electrolyte panels all within range?

Itchy feet and palms can be caused by many other problems which is why it’s shouldn't be ignored and just put down to high BS.

no she didnt
this has been going on for a while now and ive had various cortisone creams, washes and antibiotics
liver test and U and E's were good, creatinine were low 54 umol/L (62-124) but they have always been low

So you’ve had them done then, sorry, you made it sound like this was a new thing and you’ve not had any tests.
