I e noticed my feet get tingly at night time . I’ve heard this is a part of having diabetes . Should I get it. Checked out

Yep. Might not be related to your already low figures but worth it ... you may have an unrelated circulation problem to diabetes

Reading between the lines, does that mean you've never had your feet checked out as a diabetic? All the more reason to get them checked out, because they'll hopefully also organise regular checks in future.

I'd been diagnosed for 4 years before I had my first foot check (quite recently)! I'm glad to be part of the system now. I was classed as low risk after my checkup. I think the regular checkups are yearly, but the leaflet said quite clearly that you should get things checked out straight away if you notice any changes in your feet.

I agree get them checked especially as blood sugar does not have to be really high to cause foot problems. We have a number of member with prediabetes who have been diagnosed with neuropathy.

I would add that some members of the forum have reported foot tingling when getting their blood sugar down to better levels. This could be the body healing from the damage caused at the higher levels.

Getting any problems to do with feet checked is the safest bet.

To echo the other members, arrange a checkup with your clinic. I have started to notice it, when I'm at rest at home trying to relax and watch a movie or show I feel it in my feet. I went for a check up, the podiatrist told me I have a good circulation and it's probably not diabetes related.

When I asked about this a member directed me to Jenny Ruhl's website about when nerve damage occurs when blood levels rise past 7.8

Thanks for all the reply’s . My GP checked MC feet for numbness a couple of weeks ago and he said I had good circulation and the patches of numbness were around the bottom of my toes and both toes by my big toe on each foot . We’re minor and not to worry . I’ve to go back and see him in July for another complete check up HbA1c etc
