As the Hay Fever season is fast approaching (tree pollen season here yet? Spring/Summer is a bit out of whack this year). I was thinking about Hay Fever sufferers, does it directly affect your bg? Do the medications affect it?

I personally do not get it but on the occasions when the pollen count is exceptionally high I sometimes get very mild symptoms. As a forum search yeilded little on this I thought I would ask. Cheers folks.

I’m interested in people’s experiences here too. I’ve not noticed much difference in previous years but my BG levels have always been horrendous, so I doubt I’d have seen any difference if I’d have tested, which I mostly didn’t. However, they’re really healthy just now, and I’m noticing all sorts of things have an effect. I’m driving through the oilseed rape fields for several hours tomorrow, and I’m spectacularly allergic to that. So I’ll monitor carefully and see what happens! I take a daily antihistamine anyway, and that doesn’t affect me, but it’s not always man enough to cope with the onslaught of the yellow peril! They don’t grow it anywhere near me in the South Wales valleys, it was part of the reason I came to live here :D

My first bout of hayfever was after driving back from Kent up the M2/A2 past the latest crop - with the window open.

Mine was when I was walking through a field of the **** stuff. Shortly before my immune system ate my pancreas...
