I think I can put my hand on my heart and say that prescribed medication had an adverse effect on the first 15 years of the last twenty years of my life. Metformin, when I first took them in 1997 caused the worst case of the runs. it's called Absolute Diarrhea, the Rosiglitazone that was prescribed to replace Metformin caused horrendous weight gain and the citilapram prescribed to overcome the anxiety of gaining weight made me not care about anything. Last but not least, 17 years of listening to a GP who said "you must take them . . . . ", Atorvastatin, say no more.

Reading the article I might start dropping some of the BP meds although I seem to tolerate them without noticeable side effects.

Could be if you don't already have one best to get a BP monitor and check your levels yourself then you would have a better idea as to whether to discontinue them or not.

Also get the surgery to lend you a continuous BP monitoring unit for 24hrs to convince your GP.
