How Is Type 1 Or Type 2 Determined?

More than constructive @Jaylee ... you just gotta narrow it down. Exactly my intent. My whole point from the start was "why bother offering advice" when the OP was a T2 on insulin when I would never comment on that.

It is also misleading for those of us that never see "insulin dependent" even when they are. It can lead to giving misleading advice. I know for a fact that @satindoll is insulin dependent and has marked her status settings accordingly, but I can't see it.
I agree, it needs sorting. It has been far too long since the glitch happened.

I'm using Firefox and a laptop with Windows 8. I'm logged in and I also see "Type 2 insulin dependant".

I think the problem is actually in the drop down in "Personal Details" from the profile page - some people get the same display given by @DCUKMod above, ie. 2 lines displaying "Type 2". Other people (like me) get "Type 2 insulin dependant" on the second line displaying Type 2. So, if @NikkieDuranie modifies hers by selecting the first line and saving the change, hopefully it will fix the problem.

Don't know about the software used, but back in my old tech days, I'd have checked out the coding and/or indexing for the lookup table for that area of programming.

The default theme (red) is plurry terrible, I use the Mild theme as it is so much easier on my eyes.

One of the new mods screamed about the red background back then (and I agreed 100%) so dump it and see what happens. I'm not being obstructive as I'm conditioned to IT solutions

I don't use the red background at all. Never have, but I still do not see insulin dependent even when they are.

@Indy51 has a good point. I see the same in the drop down box as the example shown by @DCUKMod above. I see 2 lines with Type 2, and no lines with T2 insulin dependent.

UK. Windows 7, PC. Chrome.

It's bedtime in the Bluetit nest. :)

Mike, I agree with what you say. I'm also (like yourself.) in "limbo" regarding advice. but, as an insulin user.. ;)
@Bluetit1802 also makes a valid comment..

Lets get confirmation from @NikkieDuranie regarding what meds (if any) are prescribed, & take it from there regarding her issue in the original topic...!

With all sincere respect to you guys. can we stay on topic regarding the thread? (But of course, also take this med status thing on the profile away for the DCUK boffins to sort out.)

This is what mine has, Win 10, Chrome etc.

I don't think @NikkieDuranie is an insulin user as she has another thread which mentions starting to test today. If an insulin user this would have been initiated previously with the insulin...

Sorry @Jaylee - cross posted. Maybe you could split the tech discussion off into another thread and bring it to the attention of the boffins?

You have my assurance @Indy51 , this issue is duly noted & under discussion.

Last call to stay on topic. Concessions will be made regarding OP's med status confusion. (through no fault of her own.) :)

Though i must add, @NikkieDuranie 's profile lists,
"Treatment type:Tablets (oral). Medication:Metaformin."

If that's any help?

Agreed. All hands to the wheel in a different thread.
