Type 1'stars R Us

This has to be the best rain song ever. Performed by Tony Joe White, who wrote it. I saw him perform once, at the Borderline in London, a few years after this.

Managing T1D is like when you're trying to put something together, like a box, where you get three corners done, and then try to do the next corner, and all the ones you've got sorted fall apart.

Just to make this not too pessimistic though. You can keep on putting together better boxes, but no matter how perfect the box, at least one corner will always be a bit uncooperative.

OR sometimes the whole box will collapse ;)
What’s the T1 equivalent of gaffer tape? I’m coming to think of you guys as mine...

As a side note, 5.7mmol just now :)

5.7 is nice.

I think it's jelly babies, and correction doses, and that zigzag roller coaster thing is when you try to put the tape on and instead it gets all twisted and sticks to itself, instead.

I spiked earlier 13.4 BUTT MONKIES however I am now sure it was after the 85 gram carb of cereal I had this morning, mind you it took nearly 5 hours to hit.

More experimentation me thinks :writer:

Bit of a correction with Sluggish, lunch Costa coffee now round mid 4's :smug:

Out tonight as well Lebanese Resturant no idea what to expect should be another interesting CGM evening :headphone:

I've been up to 9.8 but working in the sun's dropped me to 5.8 without a correction, home for a couple of cups of tea then away to mums old house to start sorting the garden and tidying the old place up before collecting child at 6 for a swim.

Seems her mums working tomorrow and it seems I'm having the day off so we're having an ex's text dispute over me wanting her rota at the beginning of the week when she gets it if it'll impact on my work times, but it's par for the course and I do happily aggravate the situation but anyway :)

Turned out nice again.

I have busy morning, lady from CAB is coming round to my house to help me fill in an on loine claim for Universal credit as I can't work and get no sick pay. I just found out details at Gov.uk and when I do fill it in claimants have to do this :-
How to claim
You need to apply for Universal Credit online.

You have to apply as a couple if you and your partner live together. You do not need to be married.

After you apply, you must contact your local Jobcentre Plus within 7 days to make an appointment with a work coach.

You will not get Universal Credit if you do not attend the appointment.

I can't wait..........

And if you’re too ill to attend the appointment? Maybe we should all turn up dressed as a Heavy Brigade and wheel you into a job centre on a hospital bed

5.7? deffo a Winner there @Mel dCP how many injections did you do for that?
@Mel dCP 5.7.......well done. as @Knikki has asked how many jabs to keep to that :)
Only five so far, 8u NovoSluggish in total. But the day is far from over! It would have been at least two more if I hadn’t slept through my dawn rise alarms :banghead: So I’ve had larger doses over fewer shots than usual as I was into double figures. Finally got into range at about 2pm. 5.4mmol now with no IOB.

The lady from CAB was really helpful, but I had to verify who I was bu clicking onto a company ie, Post office. Many questions and pulling my hair out, apparently my phone isn't compatible to download the Expedian app ( I chose this one) CAB lady had already gone, so I had to ring a helpline and luckily a friend was here so his phone was compatible for the app, which took 3 attempts and then, he had to take a photo of the scan thing, (the QR code) 2 times and it went on and on, also my passport photo details only went through on the 3 rd attempt. Had a phone call from Universal credit, who have now set up a face to face with a 'life coach' at he Job centre on Monday at 11.20 am and to bring lots of ID with me and to get a sick note from my GP, from August 1st, who still hasn't received my hospital discharge paper !! I have had enough today. So trying to chill out now after a very stressful and frustrating few hours and taking deep breaths :wideyed::banghead:
