Type 1'stars R Us

Bora da.
Had a huge tea last night loads of mash, burgers, sausage and gravy. Calculated carbs and bolused accordingly. Tested before food 8.6, 2 hours after 8.6 WOOHOO. Before bed 8.6.....now starting to think my Libre is playing up!? BG test and 8.6 WOW. Now I usually get a delayed B G rise 3-4 hours after mash potatoes so when I woke this morning was super surprised to see 4.4, bit of a drop BUT hey I am happy :)

Sent an email off this morning to the Cardiff University Hospital to see if I could be put forward for the current clinical trial. I think I may not be eligible because I am a long termer! They are looking for type 1's over 2 years. Maybe I am over qualified lol

Morning all, mainly in the 6s all night and this morning but 2 corrections to keep it there.
It’s been raining here too @Robinredbreast, and it feels like Autumn. The cat’s already decided it’s not worth leaping about or going out early, and I’m following his lead. 2 lazy layabouts, but stuff to do later as off to the Midlands tomorrow to transform a room. I hope. Need to store energy for grandson time - at least that’s my current excuse.

Morning all, new sensor last night, and it's not co-operating yet, reading too low, but blood sugars seemed to be ok overnight, not a beautiful straight, perfectly horizontal, line, though.

As I write this it's just moved from showing 3s to 5.3, which is closer to reality, I think. Maybe it'll start working properly now.

Lovely day outside.

Suddenly, he took control of her blue Animas Vibe pump (exactly the same as mine) and she had a hypo. Thankfully, the good guys got to her in time and gave her a glucogon injection and she was saved.

Thank goodness for the good guys.

Was she rescued by Flash? did he have jelly babies on him?

Slightly jealous of all these clinic mentions, been over a year since my last appointment - suppose I should give them a call to see but not sure I can be bothered.

Just phoned my GP to ask about my recent blood tests from 7 days ago. Went initially for a foot check up and asked about coming off statins as I have been on them forever. Receptionist said that I need to see my GP for the results as she can't give them over the phone! After 5 mins of heated discussion I have an appointment next Friday! Hoping it's just going to be about my cholesterol results and not my HBA1C which I also asked for. A bit panicky now for 9 days....

We’ll be sorted if they want old hands with a spectacularly dead pancrearse...

Morning folks. 1am high (>7) Alarm and 9am low (<4) Alarm for the last three days, so a definite pattern! So I’ve fiddled with my basal to try and stop this from happening without making the DP raise its ugly head again.

I had a prawn salad last night, dosed at eating for the 6g carbs, plus 1.4u extended over 2 hours for the prawn protein - stayed dead level in the 5s so I’m feeling very smug indeed.

Hope you all have a lovely day :)

Yes you should, do it now, go on! :D

My last clinic was about just under a year ago, consultant wanted to see me in 6 months - so that became a June '18 (!?) appointment, they then put back my next appointment twice, I had to rearrange the next one unfortunately and so my next is now towards the end of November; so a 6 month review has quite easily turned into an annual one.

Do you have on-line access to your GP records/test results?

Morning All,

My excitement last night was not dinner (although the squashage paella was very tasty) - it was the TV show we were watching.
It was Flash (an American Super Hero/comic book character). The bad guy had super human powers which allow him to control "tech". He forced a lift to go out of control and kill a guy who had made money out of him; he took control of a Toyota Prius stopping the brakes from working; ... you get the gist.
There was this woman who had also made a lot of money out of the bad guy (before he went rogue). He went round to her very plush pad as she was playing some computer game. At first, there was nothing obvious which could kill her. Until, the bad guy mentioned her diabetes. Suddenly, he took control of her blue Animas Vibe pump (exactly the same as mine) and she had a hypo. Thankfully, the good guys got to her in time and gave her a glucogon injection and she was saved.
It was so pathetically exciting to see my pump on TV, it wasn't until later that I realised a super rich woman technical woman is likely to have the latest diabetes tech - not a pump which is no longer available.

I've seen that episode, she's kind cute the girl the with pump. Flash, Arrow and Supergirl are big in our house,

Last year I asked the GP receptionist and was told (rather aggressively) it was not possible to get access to my records unless I write a formal letter to the practice manager.
For some reason (distraction, probably), I didn't. Then last time I went to order my prescription on line, I noticed they were there anyway.
So, if you have any on-line access for prescription requests, it may be worth checking. You never know, they may have just snuck it in.
I haven't done the prescription online due to Boots is just up the road from me and they put the scripts in for me.
I have had numerous arguments with the reception staff at my GPs practise and will be ready next week lol

Lets be fair the bad guy won't stand a chance against you espically with all your SAS training :hilarious::hilarious:

If it's advice you wanted, can I suggest giving the clinic a call :) and demanding asking for an appointment.

Lunchtime food and coffee and feeling quite self satisfied having just had a row with my local sports centre regarding the removal of a swim lane, I'm glad to report they followed my suggestion of opening a second lane and giving half the pool to those who loiter in the shallow end :p :p and the best bit is that they're going to open half a pool at the same time as swim lessons on a Thursday and a Friday so increasing the available public swimming times. I've stopped trolling their Facebook feed as I'm pleased with this :)
Shame my charm isn't working as well with the probate solicitor but that's another story and insulin wise I seem to be using an extra 4u on average for my tea but have only upped my carbs by 30g, I guess it's me settling in with the Tresiba but it's strange how things have changed in the last couple of months.

Sorry @alphabeta I didn't really think your 'Woke up at 7.6' post 'funny' - was deciding between like and winner and ended up clicking literally somewhere in between like and winner! :D
