Diabetics R Us

Funnily enough I had a not to dissimilar situation last night except it was me having to reassure Judith that I was going to survive the night without medical intervention. Which I obviously did.

I'd had my flu jab my sugars were way too high and the myasthenia was being particularly nasty.
Are you ok @JohnEGreen?

Well Mr ickihun in bed most of the day so I joined him but woke on a 2bg so forced myself out to take some glucose tablets. Looks like I may have taken a few too many as I'm on a mini high now. Off to put Mr ickihun right for our joint school run. I hope he can manage it.

Phew! I'm exhausted after all that partying. At least my hangover is better now. I wish I hadn't eaten all that cheese though, I couldn't sleep!

Thanks for the concern ickihun :)

Better tonight than last night though sugars are a bit high. And no longer revisiting my life in a kaleidoscope where MG put me some years ago Judith thought I was in crisis so wanted me to go to A and E but vision and breathing (almost) back to normal so OK now.

Should add sugars are not excessive sitting at about 10 at the moment.

BTW when I had my flu jab at the pharmacy yesterday I had to take my shirt off I know what an embarrassing thought and do not intend to conjure up any unpleasant visions in the minds eye, but the pharmacist said to me you used to be bigger I said yes I have lost over eight stone he said soryy all theses he said I said things but what he did say was I can tell by the amount of loose skin you have. This lead to me bemoaning the fact that as NHS does not do cosmetic so I am stuck with it.

What he said next I found interesting it was this his pharmacy runs a weight loss diet type scheme and one of the people doing it lost eight stone but has had the loose skin he ended up with removed on the NHS and that they removed approaching to two stone of loose skin in the operation, so it is possible to get the NHS to stump up for skin removal. And skin can weigh a lot. Who knew.

Yes, I do believe the NHS will do loose skin removal ops. Blimey though, 2 stones of loose skin - so in the end he lost 10 stones.

A great gem to know. X I wonder if that patient was diabetic thou? Higher risk of infections. More dangerous an op than a bariatric one.
I may have to use one of my pensions, but not going to worry yet. Weight has to get off first. Insulin is the biggest hindrance to my loss.

@ickihun How are you both hope you feel better now.
Looks like Mr ickihun has an infection so booking a GP appointment for Friday morning for him. Unfortunately little one has a similiar bug. So off school sick with a cough and temperature with similiar to his old scarlet fever red /white face. Because of a cough I cannot give him ibuprofen inbetween calpol. So not much reprieve. He may have to see gp Friday too. :(
I'm just up early and now knackered. Both of us knackered and only 8am.:grumpy:

Morning all

Bad night with cramp, had to get up and take a quinine tablet. I did manage to get some sleep after about 2am but then I didn't want to get out of bed

Have a good day.
