Systems may differ in Scotland.

They do differ, but some guys here (and probably in a wide variety of areas down South too) will over-ride all the security measures with a crowbar/axe/machete/tow-bar-on-a-truck, and then either electrocute each other for a laugh or see how much they can sell it for in a pawnshop.

Sorry if that sounds cynical, but I've spent enough time in my career hanging around courts to know that there is no end to criminal ingenuity and/or stupidity.

Are you a lawyerish type person Scott? I can imagine that impacting your world view.

I dislike getting up in the dark, I'm not very happy with low light days and that's exactly what the forecast is!!
On the bright side....................
Out to buy fish soon and try and think of something zingy and spicy to make with it, I should get the recipe first but............. Then settle in for a good read, what's " nerd porn" @Knikki ?

Trying and failing to get on with the planned furniture move around, cleaning and cat-proofing (ish) of the abode prior to the arrival of two cats and their human for three weeks. I'm a bit early in this matter, but the next ten days or so are even busier than usual and next weekend is bonkers busy, plus music pupils who've been on a break from lessons start back next week. (They had lessons through the summer holidays, which I don't normally like or agree to, then a break in September but with reminders to practise from me now they have phones and I can text them. On reflection, for me, summer holiday lessons was a bad idea and I'm now sorry I agreed to it, but I could see the sense of it with both pupils having massive academic changes this year. )

The music room, as a result of no pupils for a month, is currently the Room of Doom and needs Sorting as well. I'm sure all the moving around of stuff will count as today's physical activity. There's also the incentive of three weeks with Friend with Car and an inevitable Trip to the Tip, so some things with be sorted and space created as well.

Come on, Japes, you can do it....

Morning everyone,

well done getting the HbA1c down @Cumberland especially well done, seeing as you recently had a period of too high blood sugars, and it's weighted towards the more recent blood sugars, so the rest of the time must be looking good.

Had a 2.2 hypo yesterday evening, and I thought my correction was going to give me a spike during the night, but it wasn't too bad. That was my fault really, I'd have a nice in target day, and was probably a bit over enthusiastic with my evening bolus dose, and then waited too long before eating, just so it stayed low. That'll teach me!

It is feeling quite Autumny out there, I always have mixed feelings about it, I like the orange leaves, and the lights, but I don't really like the cold, and dark. I'll probably go out and take some photos, and no I'm not a camera, or photography person, I just point, and press the button.

Anybody else had to cut back on their basal with winters approach? Gone from 11-10 about 3 weeks ago. Cut it to 9 on Monday after a succession of hypos and plunging night time line. Then to 8 this morning after more continued hypos. Feeling frazzled! Am on Toujeo so takes a few days to work through system. Fed up of eating.

Yep... during the hot summer my night basal was 22u of Levemir. I'm now on 12u. Same as you, multiple night hypos! I get a Libre soon so hopefully it will become easier to manage.

Morning fellow pancreatically challenged friends!

3am rude alarm for a 1u correction, woke up at 5.7. Not sure if this consistent ping at stupid o’clock needs a nasal adjustment or a protein bolus rethink. I suspect it’s a bit late for protein to be the issue, and I’m on a different pump basal profile this week for lady reasons. Could just need a tweak, I’ve got my standard profile pretty much nailed to eliminate that alarm. Rambling and thinking out loud, here!

Just quaffing coffee and readying myself to start painting the teenager’s bedroom. Nipping to the paint shop first, as he’s finally decided on his second colour, just grateful it’s not wallpaper. However, husband has set his heart on Marvel comic wallpaper for the landing... not sure it’ll compliment my wall of framed vinyl, but apparently it’s his house too

Then settle in for a good read, what's " nerd porn" @Knikki ?

Well you did ask :hilarious:

I like history, especially warfare, from most places in history but I do like World War 1 and 2 which is where I got my love of planes, tanks, uniforms, ships etc etc etc.

I also really like colours and markings on anything really but especially aircraft, I have lots of books and magazines on that for WWI machine plus ones for German, British, Japanese, Soviet in WWII, see "nerd porn" :hilarious:

As a kid there were three books I used to get out of the local library more than anything else and this week I got a copy of all three of them used from a third party seller on Amazon and they are.

Luftwaffe Camouflage and Markings 1939 - 45 Vol I, II & III and I was really like a kid in a sweet shop.

Hence Mrs Knikki's reference to "nerd porn" :writer::hilarious::hilarious:

Same also goes for camera manuals, how to paint things, Gundam, Sci-Fi art books and a ton of other junk here in the 2nd bedroom :hilarious:

Well... there's Stuff everywhere, there's some overdue ruthless decluttering happening, there's a stepladder ready for the three extra sturdy boxes I really don't want to get rid of to go into the loft space on a temporary basis until mid-November, (diary reminder is written for their removal and replacing in usual space) but there's also blood sugars being coaxed back to a better level prior to wandering up the step ladder!

The three-year rule is being applied (yes, I'm finally getting rid of items which I've been hoarding for sentimental reasons, which haven't been used in this house, so after three years of the throws occupying an under bed drawer which I need for other in-use items it's time for them to go along with numerous cardboard boxes which I haven't needed.) The bin collection people are going to get confused on Tuesday morning! It's rare for my bin to be so full and for me to put out so much cardboard recycling.

@Cumberland good news on the Hb1Ac like you say small steps :)

@porl69 You still in Turkey?

@karen8967 bit late but hugs and hope you get rid of the cold.

Morning all woke at a 3.6 so happy with that not much going on as it is raining here but I got some new books over the week so it might be a day of "nerd porn" as Mrs Knikki calls it :hilarious:

Thanks Captain Scarlet
