I think you mean that you eat low glycaemic foods. This is just my opinion so please do not take it as a slur but carbohydrates are carbohydrates, it doesn't matter what colour they are or where they sit on the Glycaemic Index they are still carbs and will still be absorbed.
Ah yeah thats the one...
I have cut carbs a lot and I am proud of where I am at the moment, I haven't gone the full distance because I am type 1 and type 2s are different but I do understand the benefits, however because I am not insulin resistant and can carb count with my Novo Rapid, I can still control my BSL readings really well. However, I understand that Carbs are my enemy and thats why I have taken steps at reducing them recently. I don't load my meals with carbs because I can, as too many carbs spike me and I feel like turd, however I never spike when eating slow release carbs and when I limit my portion sizes. If I slightly mess up my Insulin and have eaten carbs then I pay for it with High sugars, so I need to be on the ball, this is why ive reduced my carb intake significantly.
A great majority of my dinners and tea consist of mostly vegetables and meats, and less carbs than ever before.
