Confused about test results

So I had a fasting glucose test last Thursday. I rang for my results and they are abnormal but expected, no action needed. What on earth does that mean???? The doctor is ringing me on Friday but I’m worried. I’m not diagnosed diabetic
 
Hi, take a deep breath and wait for Friday. Maybe write down a few questions to ask the GP on the phone and make a quick note of what they say.
Have a look round the site to get some idea of questions to ask if the dr says you have pre diabetes or Type 2 diabetes.
When you are next back in the surgery, ask to be signed up to see any test results online. They usually ask you to take some form of photo ID with you even if you have been going there for years.
 
I guess the no action needed means that whatever was abnormal wasn't very worryingly (that's not even a word, is it?) abnormal. Make sure you get the exact results from your doctor and come back here with questions.

Hi @Antje77 Worryingly is a perfectly good word, well done.
 
You MUST ask for the actual figures and the names of the tests you had. This is important. It is never a good idea to accept a doctor's opinion - you need the facts. He may say "fine" or "abnormal" or "normal" or similar - ask for the numbers and write them down. Then you can ask for either print outs or how to register for test results on-line (only in England) Do come back and let us know the results.

Also, you could do with knowing if the tests included cholesterol, and ask for the numbers of HDL, LDL, and Triglycerides. These are just as important as glucose.

I hate to say it but just looking back at my results that is what mine said too. Fingers crossed it’s better news tho xx.

Should add that it’s bad to give you access before speaking to you about it. My GP was very relaxed when telling me what had been found! Best of luck
