Type 1 Stomach pain

Im diagnosed 8months ago with T1.
I have stomach pain since yesterdays lunchtime and diarrhea and a bit of general weakness. My bg is 4.7mmol and ketones 1.2mmol (tested blood). Im not sure should I just wait untill this goes away? At first I thought I just ate someting bad yesterday during lunch but now Im not sure..Should I eat anything for dinner? Im afraid it will make it worse. Thanks

Your blood sugars don't indicate why there are ketones. That seems strange to me, did you have a bout of high blood sugars before your current reading?

I had ketones once when I had diarrhea... but my ketones had made it into my urine. My sugars were initially high, and I had ketones and had to take extra insulin to cope with correction. Eventually my sugars returned to safe levels and me ketones went a day later.... however I had to go to hospital because of the diarrhea, turns out I had gastrointeritus, so I think my blood sugars and ketones related to that...

Obviously it could be a completely different case for you, just telling you my experience...


If you have been eating high protein recently and low carbs your body may just be naturally ketosis
