Do you think that pre-diabetes is not diabetes

I think that if you are diagnosed as pre-diabetic, you are at risk of developing the disease and all the negative drawbacks that comes with it. So, I don't believe you have diabetes until your A1C is 7 or higher on 2 or more blood tests taken.
I agree with you that the complications vary depending on the degree of the disease but are considered to be a percentage
But what if someone has A1C 6.9% As you suggest, this is not considered a diabetic

In the UK it is 6.5%, so 6.9% is considered diabetic.
 
This is why we should ask for a copy of all our blood test results.
Just accepting when the doctors say our blood work is “normal” is not good enough. We need to know the exact numbers to see how close we are too being outside of the “normal” range.
Knowledge is power and we can act accordingly
 
I think of pre diabetes as your in a car heading for a cliff but still got time to pull up and turn around.
