For breakfast I had a cooked breakfast in the hotel, comprising scrambled egg, bacon, sausage (not sure what was in it of course) two small pots of plain yoghourt and a glass of full fat milk.

Later at Euston Station it was a case of “water water everywhere but not a drop to drink” as I bodyswerved around Patisserie Valerie, a French style stall selling croissants etc etc etc. A Burger King wasn’t on my list to eat today having done the bun free fries free burger the night before.

There was or is a WH Smith where I bought two boiled eggs with fresh spinach, a small portion of cheese, a carton of full fat milk and a bar of 70% chocolate.

This was about the best I could muster under the circumstances. Travelling and Low Carb High Fat diets is quite challenging.

I know you copied and pasted that.... :D

It isn't easy, but you can do it, takes some work, but worth it in the end. Well done.

For future reference, the M&S simply food at Euston has a huge range of low carb, high fat foods - at least 3 varieties of rollitos (cheese and cold meat combinations), delicious pork crackling, chorizo crisps, various packs of salted nuts, mini pots of clotted cream, huge variety of cold meats - one of my go to places on the run. A bit late for you today, but hopefully of use to others or on another trip. If you have a bit longer there's also a Nandos.

Yes. We only spotted the Nando’s sign once seated in the waiting room. That might have been best as my wife loves Nando’s.

It probably means that meticulous planning is required. I haven’t used Euston Station for decades so I entered the Station unaware of whet was on offer.

I view 70% chocolate as 30% sugar :D

But yes it can be tricky eating out and about in a world that revolves around carbohydrate and toxic oils. The best bet is to just take the opportunity to fast

Back when I was still drinking coffee, I used coffee with cream as my Go To travel sustenance.

A lot of places sell it (Costa yes, Starbucks no, but then Costas are EVERYWHERE).
I would just ask for an Americano and a pot of their cream, dollop the lot into the coffee and wander off.
Kept me going for 3-4 hours per drink.
Rinse and Repeat.

It is a knock off version of Bulletproof Coffee and could (and did) fuel me from dawn til dusk, on occasion.

I've always managed to get cream in Starbucks... odd..

MAybe they have introduced it?
I haven't been drinking coffee for nearly 3 now (sniff) so maybe they have changed.
I asked a few times back then and they said I could have that vile shaving cream squirty stuff, but no pouring...

I haven't been to one since my trip to the PHC conference in 2018 but the central London ones I have tried have all had regular cream available.. I must admit these days I just make it myself!

Actually it was 85% chocolate. :D

@Goonergal
We never did see Nando’s so it must have been tucked away somewhere. Next time we pass through Euston we will look out for it.

PS you are not an Arsenal fan by chance?

Well that did cross my mind Jim. I am getting more and more used to eating less, especially when not at home.

There is also a diner place just outside the station that would have provided bacon...

Ah okay. We are at home now, up north where it isn’t grim. But that will be handy for next time.
