Cold hands and pain

Anyone also have ice cold hands in the morning what are extremely painful to bend?

Is it to do with diabetes? My doctor just brushes over the subject every time I bring it up.

I'm an IT worker and life is hard in the mornings with these hands

Hi @Aethalides,
It sounds like your troubles are affecting your ability to work!
That your doctor is ignoring your request for answers is possibly tantamount to unprofessional conduct.
For instance, a search brings up conditions like Raynaud's phenomenon and Syndrome, which as sites such as mayoclinic.org note can be something one is born or that may manifest as a side-effect to certain nedication, for example.
I coukd not find any direct link to diabetes but perhaps the thing is to request a referral from your doctor to a better doctor.
If he refuses you can get a second opinion from another doctor, plus referral uf need be.
@helensaramay might have sometime to add from her exoerience , too!
I sincerely hope a cause and solution can be found for your troubles. Best Wishes!!

Yeah I'm medications-r-us it seems. Every day 6 tablets in the morning and some at lunch and evening. I don't remember any of them saying anything about cold painful hands though I suppose it's worth rereading the PILs thanks

It could be worthwhile having a look at one of the several meds interaction checker tools available on t'internet. This is just one such, but add your meds, press the interactions button and it should do most of the hard work:

The only thing I can add is to consider Raynaud’s. Unlike diabetes, this is hereditary for me (my grandmother and mother had/have it).
It rarely affects me first thing in the morning but one my hands get cold, my fingers go white and numb. Unfortunately, Raynaud’s flairs up when I have a hypo which makes taking BG readings difficult.

Thanks Helen I think I got something else then as my hands are consistently cold in the morning upon waking.
My fingers aren't numb then but they are very painful when bending, things fweep out of my fingers often and like you getting blood out of them is very hard even when using my biggest pricker at maximum setting.

I might try and see a doctor when my GP is on holiday and hope this one doesn't reject it -out of hand-
