Self Care Event

Today I had a meeting with an individual who organises self care events locally on behalf of the NHS. She was looking for suggestions and help. She, myself and a well known champion in the field of Type 1 diabetes met up to discuss ideas that she might promote at her next Self Care Event. She will make the Low Carb Carrot Cake.

I have given her the Diabetes.co.uk address and other useful material. The T1 specialist aligns with another well known body relating to diabetes and his contribution was very illuminating. He is a massive fan of the Abbot Freestyle Libre.

All in all it was very interesting engaging with individuals with an interest in diabetes and self care. I explained LCHF, how it worked for me and both were aghast at having to do without carbs.

Any suggestions from @Goonergal and @Debandez would be appreciated in particular.

I have had a fantastic response on this and this has been very useful in getting my two local surgeries to hook up with another in the region and so we, north of the Ribble may end up joining the dots with the Southport surgery just south of the river Ribble.

The individual dealing with self care in our area is particularly grateful for the useful material I have been able to send her today.

I saw that today. Another member showed it to me.

Unfortunately I am strapped for time. I have tried to go through the PPG and to be honest, things seem to be moving quickly which is very pleasing.
