Can anyone share their experiences with Oviva Diabetes Support?

I got a letter offering me either a place on a DESMOND course or 8 weeks of telephone support from Oviva Diabetes support- which is a diabetes specialist dietician. I opted for the phone support as I don't drive and it isn't easy to get to where the DESMOND course is. Have any of you used the Oviva service? Is it useful or would the DESMOND course be better? (I'll have to pay a fortune for a taxi lol)!

To be candid, Guna, I had never heard of it until you posted about it.

Have you had a look at their site at all? I'll be curious to hear how it goes. This site also has resources approved for prescribing on the NHS. The Low Carb Programme. This link quotes the direct, individual sign up costs, but it is free to patient on prescription. https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/category/diabetes/

Their site doesn't give much information, but it is what my local Diabetes Educational Base have given as the option to DESMOND. Thanks for the link about the Low Carb Programme. I will contact my G.P to see if he can get it free for me on prescription. Do you know if it has menu plans for vegans ?

Yes, there are some in there, although from what I understand not as many as for veggie or omnivores. The Low Carb Programme, whilst it has lots of eating suggestions, and recipes, it doesn't have a day-by-day menu, as I recall. It is quite structured though.
